Dive in With Confidence

Sedation dentistry can make your little surfer’s dental visits much more comfortable!

Overcome Fears

Sedation dentistry helps your child build trust with the dentist and dental procedures, making it easier for them to overcome any fears and establish lifelong healthy dental habits.

Relax

Sedation is designed to help your child relax, allowing them to comfortably sit through the appointment without worrying about the procedure.

Complete Treatment

If your little one has difficulty with dental treatments, sedation may enable our pediatric dentists to complete multiple procedures in one visit, reducing the need for additional appointments.

We'll help you to find the most suitable sedation option for your child.

Types of Sedation Dentistry

Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous oxide, often referred to as laughing gas, provides a gentle form of sedation.

Your child will breathe it in through a nosepiece, helping them feel relaxed throughout their procedure. The dentist can adjust the sedation level to ensure your child’s comfort.

With nitrous oxide, your child stays awake and can communicate or respond to the dentist’s instructions.

Oral Conscious Sedation

This method provides mild to moderate sedation.

Oral conscious sedation allows your child to feel very relaxed and comfortable during their appointment. They may become drowsy or even fall asleep, but the sedative will not render them unconscious. We’ll monitor them closely throughout the appointment to ensure their safety, and afterward, they may have little to no memory of the experience.

General Anesthesia

General anesthesia is a potent sedative given by an anesthesiologist in our office. It may be recommended for your child based on:

  • Their specific needs
  • The extent of the procedures
  • The type of dental work required
  • Their age

Throughout the visit, your child will be closely monitored to ensure their safety, and afterward, they will have no memory of the procedure.

Making Your Visit More Enjoyable!
